Dear, coaching staff,
parents/guardians and players,
The Westfort Hockey Association is
committed to providing a safe and fun environment for all minor hockey players
by emphasizing sportsmanship, teamwork, fair play, and respect both on and off
the ice. Our aim is to not only develop athletes, but to support players by
instilling upon them these values. As members of this association and fans of
the game, we must recognize that positive participation and involvement
will take priority over the score every time. Members, players, and referees
are vital stakeholders in maintaining that these values are sustained before,
during and after the game.
The Westfort Hockey Association Board of
Directors would like to remind all members of the conduct expected of you while
attending sanctioned events and representing the Westfort Hockey Association.
Moving forward any conduct by a member that is deemed as unsafe, inappropriate
or tarnishes the integrity of the game will result in severe disciplinary
actions set forth by our policies and instituted by the Westfort Hockey
Association Executive Board. This includes but is not limited to game
suspensions, removal from the team and/or expulsion from Westfort Hockey
Association. Please consider this communication as a final reminder to ensure
that all policies are adhered to.
As
a reminder… there are many policies and procedures that have been implemented
to ensure the health and safety of coaches and athletes while on the ice
surface. Protective equipment must be worn correctly, and in proper
working order to be effective. Please ensure player neck guards and helmets
are properly fitted and worn at all games and practices. These are MANDATORY
requirements instituted for the player’s protection. If you have any questions
or concerns, please reach out to any of the Executive board members.
Thank You for
your cooperation.
